Open qualifying for the 2009 Stocker Cup will be held this year at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, 30 minutes south of San Jose.

CordeValle is a challenging Robert Trent Jones, Jr. layout that shares many playing characteristics with the Stocker Cup's host course, The Preserve.

The number of qualifying spots available in the tournament proper will be determined by the size of the qualifier field. Lodging is available at player's expense -- we will soon announce a stay and play rate for a Monday practice round and Monday night stayover in the luxurious bungalows that will make you think hard about bringing your significant other and making a trip of it. Players must meet the following criteria:

- Age 25 or over as of the qualifying date
- Verifiable USGA Handicap Index of 3.4 or lower (note change from 2008)

Entry fee for the qualifier, for players who register more than 45 days from the event, is just $95 including cart fee, forecaddy, and range balls.

NOTE: Players advancing to the tournament proper will pay the "A" player entry fee of $500.00 which covers practice round and at least 54 holes of tournament golf, plus tournament dinner for player and spouse, and many extras.
