Eligibility & Schedule
The Stocker Cup is primarily a Mid-Amateur event with a Senior Division limited to 16 players of the scratch field. Players must have reached the age
of 25 by the first day of the tournament for the Mid-Amateur Division; senior contestants must be age 55 and over. Entry to either division is by invitation, and via an 18 hole qualifying round in early October, at a site to be determined. (Note: the number of available spots is based on the strength of the qualifying field - 4 players out of 32 made it into the field in 2011.)

players are Mid-Amateur and Senior golfers of international,
national or regional reputation.
Players with national level amateur golf accomplishments who wish to submit
a request for invitation should do so no later than September 1st. Please click
here to submit a request for invitation.
B player entries are by invitation only. Invitations are extended to friends, relatives and associates of the late Peter Stocker as well as other supporters of the event. The maximum handicap for B players is 18. B players with single digit handicaps will be given a higher priority.
ENTRY FEE

Format of Competition
The Stocker Cup Invitational comprises
two simultaneous competitions. The Team
Competition, conducted over 54 holes,
pairs each A Player, who plays at scratch,
with a B player, who plays at an assigned
handicap, competing for the Team Title under
a better-ball format. The A player
plays from the Championship tees; the B
player at his handicap from the Gold tees. The Individual Championship for A
Players is played over 72 holes. (please
see schedule above.) Ties for
the individual Championship are settled
15 minutes after the conclusion of play
by "Sudden Death" playoff. Team
ties will be settled by the USGA tie ending
procedures.
Rules & Conditions
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as currently approved by the USGA. Local rules, detailed tournament conditions and registration requirements within a Tournament Information Packet will be provided via mail prior to October 1st. The Tournament Committee requires that all players wear softspike or spikeless shoes. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to reject or ban an applicant or participant at any time before or after the start of tournament play. Any tournament participant engaging in unbecoming or unsportsmanlike conduct during tournament play or otherwise is subject to rejection or disqualification as well as being permanently barred from consideration for a subsequent Stocker Cup Invitation.
The Northern California Golf Association Tournament Committee will serve as starters, as well as handling rules decisions and scoring. The NCGA "Pace of Play Guidelines," including player timing procedures, will be in effect to assure a reasonable pace of play. This includes the requirement that Net players shall not putt out if their team's position cannot be improved.

Weather
The average high temperature in the Monterey area during the October time period has been 69° and 50° the average low (record high/low temperatures for these dates has been 94°/35°). It is reasonable to expect likely temperatures during tournament play at the Preserve GC to be between 55° and 78° depending on tee time. Rainfall is unlikely but possible in early October. Plan attire needs accordingly. The course elevation is about 1500 ft. During the Stocker Cup, sunrise will be about 7:16AM and sunset about 6:25PM as daylight savings time will still be in effect. The 1st tee time each round is 9:00AM and the last time is about 11:00AM.
